Start a conversation
Open Today
Open Menu, then Today.
Write your message
Describe what is happening and what you want to do next.
Reply
Choose a suggested reply, or write your own.
Ask Dale to help you prepare, practice a conversation, or start a skill pack.
Change Dale’s name
Ask Dale what name to use, or open Menu → Settings → Dale & preferences and edit What I call my coach. Full steps: Manage your ProSocial preferences.
Dictate a message
When the message box is empty, choose the microphone button next to it. Speak, then stop when you finish. Your words appear as text so you can edit them before you send.
If the microphone stays silent, see Fix microphone, camera, or audio problems.
Talk live with Dale
From the coaching message box, choose Talk live with Dale.
- Allow microphone access if your browser asks.
- Choose Start talking.
- Speak with Dale in real time.
- Choose End conversation when you are done.
ProSocial saves the live talk in your Dale conversation. For practice scenes, use voice roleplay.
Attach a photo or file
Paste a photo or file into the message box, or drag it onto the box. Then send your message. Dale can use what you attach to coach you.
If ProSocial rejects a file, try a smaller file or a common photo or document type.
Edit or retry
Select your most recent message:
- Edit message — change what you wrote
- Retry from here — keep your message and get a new reply from Dale
Either choice restarts the chat from that point.
